Born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1981 (of Jamaican, Indian, and Dominican descent), R&B/rap femme fatale Olivia specializes in sultry, smooth, and sexy sounds à la Janet Jackson, TLC, Salt-N-Pepa, and so on. Born with the talent of perfect pitch, Olivia began developing her singing in the church choir and by singing Michael Jackson songs for friends, as well as taking voice, guitar, and piano lessons as a teen, eventually inking a recording deal with Clive Davis' J Records in August 2000. Olivia Longott was born on February 15, 1981. Her mother is Jamaican/Native American and her father is Cuban.[1]

Career

J Records

In 2000, she became the first artist signed to Clive Davis J Records. Her self-titled debut album Olivia was released in 2001 and featured the singles "Bizounce" which made #15 on the charts, and "R U Capable". The album debuted at number fifty-five and was RIAA certified Gold in November 2002. At the time of the album's certification, Olivia had already been released from J Records, signing to Interscope Records.

In 2004, Olivia re-emerged as the first woman signed to G-Unit Records. She contributed vocals to the trio's debut album Beg for Mercy and to 50 Cent's The Massacre, including the album's number-one single "Candy Shop".

Her first solo single released via G-Unit Records was "Twist It", featuring fellow G-Unit member Lloyd Banks, followed up by "So Sexy" in summer 2005. Both songs failed to debut on the charts due to little promotion. Olivia briefly attended Hofstra University in New York and planned her second album, Behind Closed Doors, which was slated for a 2007 release on Interscope and G-Unit Records. Around the same time, Olivia contributed vocals to Shaggy's single "Wild 2Nite" which debuted at number 85 on the US charts and 65 on the UK charts.

Olivia released her single, "Best Friend", featuring 50 Cent in 2006.

Universal

In 2008 it was announced Olivia and G-Unit Records had parted ways therefore her second studio album Behind Closed Doors, which was to be released sometime in 2008, was shelved. Since then Olivia has hired an acting coach and been auditioning for both television and film. She will make her acting debut in the film Conspiracy X directed by Shawn Barker.

In 2009 at a public event she announced she has signed a recording contract with Universal Records which will release her official second studio album titled Alone With You. The album believed to be release in 2010. The first single has been announced to be titled Take It Off. The single leaked in September 2009 and was well received by fans.
