The Omnidroid is a series of intelligent and destructive fictional robots developed by Syndrome in the Disney/Pixar movie The Incredibles.

Background
The Omnidroids were invented by Syndrome to fight and kill Supers. Syndrome made many different versions of this battle robot. Each were designed to fight and kill Supers, and each subsequent model improved upon the previous one by correcting flaws found during fights. The Omnidroid's only weakness is itself: in the film, Mr. Incredible scrambles into Omnidroid's inner workings, causing the machine to pierce its own hull in a vain attempt to pry the hero free from inside.
Functions
The Omnidroid series (or Omnibot, as is described by Mirage), was designed by Syndrome to use A.I. and destructive features such as claws and lasers to target and destroy super-heroes. It is self-learning and can correct its own mistakes, and also collects information on the Supers.
Each Omnidroid in the Omnidroid series had been used once to destroy a certain super-hero, and is eventually defeated by a one superhero. Through instruction of Mirage, the superheroes do not fully destroy the Omnidroid as "it is government property". Data from the nearly-destroyed Omnidroid is then used to create the next Omnidroid, specifically designed to have functions to defeat the intended superhero.
The final Omnidroid created by Syndrome is controlled via a remote, and he uses it to act as a Superhero to "destroy" it after launching it into Metroville. However, the Omnidroid learns that Syndrome is controlling it and snatches from him. The Omnidroid is eventually destroyed by the Parr family and Frozone.
The "Omnidroid" name
The following is shown during The Incredibles credits:
"The term OMNIDROID used by permission of Lucasfilm Ltd".
George Lucas apparently holds a trademark on the term "droid" (it's the word used to refer to the robots in the Star Wars franchise) and as "Omnidroid" has the term "droid" in it, permission was requested (and granted) from Lucasfilm to use the term in the film.[1]
