Des Moines, IA-based hard rock quintet On a Pale Horse bend the genre to their will by utilizing elements of stoner, alternative, progressive, and straight-up heavy metal. Formed in 2003 around the talents of vocalist Aaron Peltz, bass player Matt Robinson, drummer Nick Svoboda, guitarist Jerry Spargur, and guitarist/vocalist Josh Brainard (Slipknot), On a Pale Horse released their eponymous debut in 2005 on Orchard Records, followed by Generation of Vipers in March 2008 on the Corporate Punishment label. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
