Biography

A four-member R&B group from Chicago, One Chance -- Rob Brent, Jon Gordon, Michael Gordon, and Courtney Vantrease -- caught a big break when they were able to perform for Usher, who was so impressed by what he saw that he signed them to his US label (a subsidiary of J). The group's debut album, Private, was released in late 2006. One Chance is an R&B vocal group based in Chicago, best known for their 2006 song "Look at Her", which peaked at number 53 on the Billboard R&B chart.

Biography

A four-member R&B group from Chicago, One Chance—Rob Brent, Jon Gordon, Michael Gordon, and Courtney Vantrease—got their break when they performed for Usher, who then signed them to his label, US Records.[1][2]

Originally a quintet, the group's début was on the 2005 soundtrack for In the Mix, with the songs "That's My Word" and "Could This Be Love".[3] The first single released was "That's My Word"; a fifth member who subsequently left can be seen in the video.[4]

In 2006, their single "Look at Her" reached number 53 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.[5] "U Can't", released in March 2008, peaked at number 73 on the Billboard R&B songs chart.[6]

Debut album

Originally slated for release in late 2006, their debut album, Private, was repeatedly pushed back and eventually shelved,[7] and the group was dropped by US Records. The group's debut album is now planned to be self-titled.[7]
