Plot

Two couples struggling under desperate circumstances are faced with a devastating betrayal in this low-key independent drama from writer and director Conor Horgan. An unnamed apocalyptic event has left a handful of survivors struggling to get by in a village in rural Ireland. Mark (Rory Keenan) and his wife Katie (Kelly Campbell) are sharing a cottage with another couple, Jonathan (Ciaran McMenamin) and Hannah (Alex Reid) as they wait to see what will happen next; they have a stock of provisions and their neighbor Tim (Robert O'Mahoney), while even tempered, is willing to defend their territory if need be. But matters take a turn for the worse when Sgt. Lavelle (Paul Ronan), a local police officer, helps himself to a large supply of their food, and a handful of armed thugs take much of the rest. Tim is not willing to help his friends who were unprepared to protect their supplies, and tension mounts as the couples realize that they'll soon have to find a way to sustain themselves in a world without power, electronic communication or markets. But even the basics of survival seem insignificant to Mark when he learns that Katie has been having an affair with Jonathan. One Hundred Mornings received its American premiere at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
