Federal Reserve System's portfolio of U.S. Government securities, agency securities, and bankers acceptances acquired through Open Market Operations. The Open Market Account is maintained by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, following instructions from the Federal Open Market Committee which meets periodically. Also called System Open Market Account.
