The BCR Open Romania is an ATP tennis tournament taking place September every year in Bucharest, Romania. The tournament was first held in 1993, with Goran Ivanišević winning the singles title. The tournament has yet to see a Romanian singles winner (even though the 2005 edition saw two Romanian players reaching the semifinals, and the 2007 edition saw Victor Hanescu reach the finals), but a Romanian pair (Andrei Pavel and Gabriel Trifu) did take home the doubles title in 1998.
2005
The 2005 edition of this tournament took place between September 12-18, 2005. Florent Serra won his first career ATP title and €302,000 in prize money by defeating Igor Andreev. It was the second year in a row that Andreev finished as runner-up. The highest ranked player participating was Mariano Puerta, at the time 10th on the ATP tour.
