Operation Junction City
(February-April 1967) a big push by Gen. William C. Westmoreland to win the Vietnam War. Since South Vietnamese forces were assigned primarily to occupation, pacification, and security duties, U.S. troops were able to conduct massive combat sweeps in order to locate and destroy the enemy.
