Orbit Downloader is a freeware graphical download manager for the Microsoft Windows operating system. One of the main features of the program is its ability to grab and download embedded Flash Video files from sites like YouTube, Dailymotion, Metacafe etc.[2] Orbit Downloader also accelerates downloads by acting as a peer-to-peer client, utilizing bandwidth of other users.

Issues
The software functions entirely as advertised, but the "100% clean" rating is misleading. Users who install Orbit Downloader (with the default settings) will notice that their homepages are rerouted to an Orbit-branded version of Google, and the default search box in Internet Explorer is also changed to the Orbit search function. This is easily avoided, however, by un-checking the appropriate boxes during the installation of the program.
It also hijacks all 404 error pages and redirects them to an Orbit search page, but this functionality can be disabled in the preferences of Orbit Downloader. The hijacking takes place every time a server is either not found, or returns a 404 reply, and will override any actual 404 page returned by the site (which could be a problem) since it only goes by the 404 response header.
As reasons for these measures, they've stated that they have to make money in some way, and that they'd rather do it via mild browser takeover which can be turned off, rather than installing actual spyware or adware software on people's computers or charging for the program.
They've also repeatedly been approached with offers to buy the program, but they've declined to sell it as they don't want to compromise its integrity.
