The Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia is one of the best-known orchestras in Italy. It is based at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. At various times it has been known as the Symphony Orchestra of the Augusteo and Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Orchestra Stabile dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. The current music director is Antonio Pappano. It was founded in 1908. From its foundation until 1936 it performed at Teatro Augusteo. Since 2002, the orchestra has been housed at il Parco della Musica designed by architect Renzo Piano.
