Orgonon

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Email

Orgonon was the 160-acre (0.65 km2) home, laboratory and research center of the Austrian-born psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957). Located in Rangeley, Maine, it is Reich's burial place, and is now open to the public as the Wilhelm Reich Museum.

The name is a play on orgone energy.[citation needed]

In popular culture

Orgonon is referenced by singer-songwriter Kate Bush in Cloudbusting, a song based on aspects of the life of Wilhelm Reich.

The german darkwave-project Janus refers to Reich's laboratory with the song "Wolken über Orgonon" (germ. for "clouds over orgonon"), on the re-release of the album Vater.
