Oroborus

Wikipedia: Oroborus (window manager)
This article is about the Unix software. For the cyclic self-devouring and self-begetting symbol, see Ouroboros.

In Unix computing, Oroborus is a minimalist window manager for the X Window System. The project also provides some tools which can be useful with other window managers too.

Oroborus was written by Ken Lynch, and is currently developed by Stefan Pfetzing.

Oroborus is released under the GNU General Public License.

There are several additional tools for Oroborus, including:

  • Keylaunch
  • Deskmenu - Creates a menu when the user clicks on the root window of the X Window System desktop.
  • Desklaunch - Creates small icons on the root window of the X Window System to allow a user to start applications quickly.
