Occurrence of protein in the urine as a result of prolonged standing. It disappears after bed-rest. Orthostatic proteinuria has been linked to the peripheral sequestration of blood during exercise, especially in young adults.
Nonpathological proteinuria usually occurring between the ages of 10 and 20, and manifested when the individual stands erect but disappears when the person lies down.
(postural proteinuria) proteinuria that occurs during daily activities but does not occur when the individual is recumbent.
