(African mythology)
The sky god Osawa, according to the Ekoi, sent a frog to men with the message that death would be the end of all things. At the same moment he sent a duck with the message that they should arise from the dead. Unfortunately, the frog alone accomplished Osawa's errand, since the duck was beguiled by palm oil, and men did not hear its message of hope.
