Aascar Films

Aascar Films formally Oscar films Private Ltd, is a production house led by the film producer V. Ravichandran (also known as Oscar Ravichandran, and Aaskar Ravichandran) is a film producer and distributor in the Tamil-based film industry. He is the founder of Aascar Films. Ravichandran started his venture in 1998 with co production of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. In 2000, he produced Vanathai Pola which received the National Indian film award for entertainment, as well as two state awards for the best popular film producing wholesome entertainment.^{[citation needed]}

Aascar Films formally Oscar films Private Ltd, is a production house led by the film producer Oscar V. Ravichandran. As Oscar Films, the production house produced 24 films in Tamil.

According to Oneindia.in, Ravichandran had to change the company name in the spring of 2008, after receiving a legal notice from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He chose "Aaskar Films Private Ltd" and replaced the logo he had been using, which was similar to the one used for the Academy Awards.[1]

The company has won state government awards for the films Poovellam Un Vasam, Roja Kootam, Ramana, and Anniyan^{[citation needed]}.

As of January 2009, the films under production by Aascar Films are Ananda Tandavam and Leelai[2].
