Osterspiel von Muri, an Easter play written in Middle High German in the Aargau, Switzerland, early in the 13th c. Its focal points are the encounter of the risen Christ with the women, and the narration of the Resurrection. The play, which has survived only in fragments, is written in a courtly style and metrically correct verse. It is the earliest drama in the German language.
