Guernsey, Otis L[ove], Jr. (1918–2001), critic. Born in New York and educated at Yale, he served as a drama critic for the Herald Tribune and Show, as a lecturer on theatre, and as the editor of the Dramatists Guild Quarterly. However, he is best known as the editor of the Best Plays series, supervising thirty‐six volumes between 1964 and 2000 (the longest stint in the history of the series).
