P. C. Sreeram (born 26 January in Chennai, India) is a cinematographer and film director, educated at the Madras Film Institute. He is known for his frequent collaborations with the director Mani Ratnam. Their combination pioneered some of the innovative cinematographic techniques in Indian Cinema.
Films that Sreeram has worked on as cinematographer include Mouna Raagam (1986), Nayagan (1987), Agni Natchathiram (1988), Geethanjali (1989), Gopura Vasalile (1991), Thevar Magan (1992), Thiruda Thiruda (1993), Kuruthipunal (1995), Alaipayuthey (2000), Cheeni Kum (2007), Dhaam Dhoom (2008),13B_(film),Yaavarum Nalam (2009) and Paa_(film).(2009).
Sreeram stepped into direction in 1992, directing his first feature film Meera with actor Vikram in lead role. He has directed the movies Meera (1992), Kuruthipunal (1995), and Vaanam Vasappadum (2004). His movie Kuruthipunal had no songs, no love as seen in Indian movies.
He won a National Film Award for Best Cinematography for his work Nayagan (1987). P.C. Sreeram has been a mentor of some of the top cinematographer's in the Indian film industry, some of whom include Jeeva, K. V. Anand, Tirru, M.S.Prabhu, Ramji, Arjun Jena, Fowzia, and Andrew.
He is considered to be one of greatest Indian cinematographers.
