Game Description

The playfield in Pac-Man for the Atari 5200 is stretched horizontally unlike its vertically-oriented arcade forefather. Also, gameplay is faster, the ghosts' eyeballs are missing, and the graphics are a bit blocky. Otherwise, this is a pretty darned accurate rendition of the 1980 arcade original. It's certainly a quantum leap above the infamous Atari VCS rendition of the game.

Roots & Influences

Pac-Man for the Atari 5200 is based on the legendary Bally/Midway Arcade classic, which hit the scene in 1980. Pac-Man was made available to Atari 2600 owners in 1981.
