Padārtha
The Padārtha represent seven categories recognized by the Vaisheshika. Kanada wrote of the first six Padārtha: Substance, Quality, Action, Genus, Individuality and Inherence. Later commentators added a seventh, Privation. The Nyaya later developed a competing list of sixteen Padārthas.
