Pakistan first participated at the Paralympic Games in 1992, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Paralympic Games since then.

Pakistani athletes have so far won a single medal. A silver, coming courtesy of Haider Ali in the Men's Long Jump - F37/38 Event at Beijing 2008 Paralympics. Ali scored the same number of points (1,104) as the gold medal winner, Farhat Chida, from Tunisia. However, Ali had 2 failed attempts, whilst Chida had none, so Chida collected the gold medal. [1]

Pakistan will be taking part in the 2012 Summer Paralympics, and the National Paralympic Committee of Pakistan have chosen Bedford as the UK base for its paralympians.[2]
