The Pakistan football league system is the national football competition in Pakistan. It is organized by the Pakistan Football Federation and consists of 4 levels. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, and allows even the smallest club to dream of rising to the very top of the system.

The Pakistan Premier League, composed of 16 teams. Each year, two teams are relegated on the basis of fewest points earned during a full season. The relegated teams are replaced by the top two teams from the Pakistan Football Federation League.
12 teams compete to play in the PPL, the top two are promoted, while the bottom two clubs are relegated to the C Division.
The league is made up of teams who have been selected from the 8 provincial D Divisions. The top two teams are promoted to the PFFL. The rest play in the D Division leagues the following season.
