Palmela DOC

 

[pahl-MEH-lah] A doc covering parts of the municipalities of Palmela and setúbal in southern Portugal, which includes the former ipr, Arrábida. Palmela is known mainly for its deep full-bodied red wines made from the periquita grape, but it also produces some interesting white wines from the fernão pires grape. See also terras do sado.
