Hosted by Richard Dreyfuss, this interfaith concert was initiated by Pope John Paul II and performed at the Vatican in commemoration of the Holocaust and the Vatican's official recognition of Israel as a state. The London Royal Philharmonic, conducted by Gilbert Levine and joined by the Choir of St. Peter's Basilica, performs music by Franz Schubert, Beethoven, and Leonard Bernstein to an audience that includes Pope John Paul II, Rome's chief rabbi Rav Elio Toaff, Italy's president, over 200 Holocaust survivors, and an invited audience of 7,500 people. ~ Steve Blackburn, Rovi
