Review

Para Sempre is a very strange compilation, consisting exclusively of songs from the albums Uah-Bap-Lu-Bap-Lah-Béin-Bum! from 1987 and A Pedra do Gênesis from 1988. These are two of Raul Seixas' last, least famous, and least impressive albums. One particularly lackluster track is "I'm," the English version of "Gîtâ," and -- frankly speaking -- almost all the magic of Seixas' own brilliant original was lost in translation. A welcome rarity, on the other hand, is Seixas' interesting version of Argentine composer Enrique Santos Discépolo's "Cambalache." ~ Philip Jandovský, Rovi
