Paraíso Tropical is a popular Brazilian telenovela broadcast on the Globo network that ran for 179 episodes throughout 2007. The popularity of Paraíso Tropical spawned a pair of soundtracks, Paraíso Tropical: Nacional and Paraíso Tropical: Internacional, each comprised of theme songs for various characters. The Nacional volume features well-known Brazilian artists including Ana Carolina, Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento, Maria Bethânia, Caetano Veloso, Marina Lima, Bebel Gilberto, and Elis Regina. The Internacional volume features mostly English-language performances by Rod Stewart, Harry Nilsson, Michael Bublé, Gladys Knight, Michael Bolton, Madeleine Peyroux, B.B.
