Paredes de Coura (Portuguese pronunciation: [pɐˈɾeðɨʃ ðɨ ˈkowɾɐ]) is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 138.2 km² and a total population of 9,367 inhabitants (2006).
The municipality is composed of 21 parishes and is located in the district of Viana do Castelo.
The present Mayor is António Pereira Júnior, elected by the Socialist Party.
The municipal holiday is August 10.
The town is internationally famous for the Paredes de Coura summer rock festival. In the past years, the festival has seen performances from bands such as:
The 2005 edition brought approximately 30,000 people from all around Europe to attend the festival.
