Pareto plot

A diagram similar to a bar chart, with no gaps between the bars and with the bars ordered in decreasing order of the frequencies they represent. The scale is usually proportion rather than frequency. It is common to superimpose an indicator of cumulative proportion.




Pareto plot. This plot illustrates the causes of death of Londoners in 1665. The data and spelling are taken from the Annual Bill of Mortality for London.
