Parkes is a railway station on the Broken Hill railway line in the western New South Wales city of Parkes, Australia. The station opened in 1893 [1] and is served by the Indian Pacific and Outback Explorer passenger trains. Parkes is also the junction point of the Stockinbingal- Parkes railway and the Parkes- Narromine railway line which form a cross country route between Cootamundra on the Main South line and Werris Creek on the Main North line[2]. A railway station also served Parkes Racecourse between 1923 and 1937.[3]
