Parts Per Billion (PPB)

The concentration of a Contaminant; the number of molecules of contamination expressed as a proportion of the total volume.
Example: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets limits on the parts per billion of certain contaminants in drinking water to ensure its safety.
