Review

Western listeners won't found much variation in these ten raags from the 1950s. But if Sufi music that coils and builds with unrelenting energy is what you seek, this 50-minute disc delivers plenty of hypnotic drones, repetitive trance melodic lines, and rhythmic percussion. The sound quality is excellent, considering the time and location of the original recording. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
