Pathankot Airport (IATA: IXP, ICAO: VIPK) is a military airport located in Pathankot in the Gurdaspur district in the state of Punjab, India. The airfield is mostly used by the Indian Air Force. Nos 26 and 108 Squadrons operate from the airfield under the control of No. 18 Wing IAF and Western Air Command.[1] They fly Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 fighter aircraft. It is heavily guarded as many squadrons are located here. The airport lies inside the IAF cantonment.
Commercial flights have recently started, linking it with Kulu and Delhi.
Mr. Praful Kumar has inaugurated this airport at Pathankot on 21st of November 2006. This airport serves national flights only.
