A name for Upper Egypt which occurs chiefly in the prophets (e.g., Is 11:11), derived from the Egyptian pa-ta-rsh (land of the south). It is always mentioned together with Mizraim, which means Lower Egypt. In the Table of Nations in Genesis chapter 10, the Pathrusim are listed among the descendants of Mizraim and mentioned among others together with Casluhim (from whom the Philistines descended), and Caphtorim (Gen 10:13-14; I Chr 1:12). The Pathrusim may have been people who dwelt in the region of Mount Cassius, east of Pelusium, i.e., in the northeastern Delta, between Egypt and the peninsula of Sinai.

Concordance
I Chr 1:12. Is 11:11. Jer 44:1, 15. Ezek 29:14; 30:14
