Plot

When you're one of the most visible members of the most popular rock group in history, it's not easy to form a new band and start over again, but that's just what Paul McCartney did in 1971, when, after the breakup of the Beatles, he released the first album from his new band Wings. Paul McCartney: Wingspan - An Intimate History is a documentary that looks at McCartney's solo career from the early '70s through the mid-'80s, dealing with his professional triumphs, personal struggles, and occasional brushes with controversy and he set out to establish a new musical identity with his new band. While the film was originally created for television broadcast, the home video edition of Paul McCartney: Wingspan - An Intimate History features an expanded cut with 22 minutes of additional material, as well as several full-length versions of music videos from Paul and his group. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
