Paul Reynolds (born 4 August 1962, Liverpool) was a lead guitarist and singer for the Liverpudlian band, A Flock of Seagulls. He is commonly known for his large white glasses and serious-mannered appearance.
Reynolds joined A Flock of Seagulls ("AFOS") at the age of seventeen, he was invited to audition for AFOS by Frank Maudsley when Willie Woo left the band. AFOS's popularity soared with the release of the single "(It's Not Me) Talking" in the UK. An album followed, as did a Grammy Award, two more hit singles and a worldwide tour by the time he was aged twenty. Reynolds's favourite concert was performing at Madison Square Garden in New York City.[citation needed]
Reynolds left AFOS around 1984, the last video he ever did was "Never Again (The Dancer)" and the remaining members continued on until 1986 when they decided to break up. When AFOS was reformed in 1989 by singer Mike Score, Reynolds and the remaining members decided not to rejoin. Reynolds and his fellow ex-members did, however, reunite with Score for a one-off performance in London in 2004 due to VH1's Bands Reunited. The band performed their hit 'I Ran', and the performance was attended by a staged audience, arranged by the aforementioned television program's production team. Before the performance, Reynolds was interviewed on his reason for leaving the band; he claimed that he was too young for the "rock 'n' roll lifestyle" - he was under too much pressure and he mentioned he had some alcohol problems.
As of the 2000s he is currently performing with a Jazz band in England.
