Ingredients
- 6 small apples, halved and cored, but not peeled
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup peach preserves
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ cup apple juice
Procedure
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Place the apple halves cut side up in a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, preserves, cinnamon, nutmeg, juice, and butter.
- Sprinkle over the apples and cover the pan tightly with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the apples are just tender.
- Remove from oven and spoon the juice from the bottom of the pan over the apples.
- Return to the oven and bake, uncovered, for 5 more minutes.
- Serve warm or cold.
Serves 6.
