Pedro or the archaic Pêro is a masculine given name. It is a Portuguese, Galician and Spanish form of the name Peter,[1] which is derived, via Latin "petra", from the Greek word "η πετρα" meaning "stone, rock".[2] The name Peter itself is a translation of the Aramaic Kephas or Cephas meaning "stone".
