Pedro or the archaic Pêro is a masculine given name. It is a Portuguese and Spanish form of the name Peter[1], which is derived, via Latin "petra", from the Greek word "petros" meaning "stone, rock".[2] The name Peter itself is a translation of the Aramaic Kephas or Cephas meaning "stone".
