Xanadoo (formerly Pegasus Communications) was a leading independent provider of direct broadcast satellite (DSB) TV, with about 1.1 million subscribers on the DIRECTV platform. After DIRECTV announced plans to end the relationship, subsidiary Pegasus Satellite filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and DIRECTV bought Pegasus' satellite assets for about $938 million. The company is now a high-speed wireless Internet service provider in Texas, Illinois, and Oklahoma. Hedge fund Peninsula Capital Advisors has a majority equity stake in the company, but CEO Marshall Pagon controls the voting shares.
