According to the United States Census Bureau, Penn Township covers an area of 23.77 square miles (61.57 square kilometers); of this, 23.72 square miles (61.43 square kilometers, 99.77 percent) is land and 0.05 square miles (0.14 square kilometers, 0.23 percent) is water. The township includes the southwest quarter of Turkey Run State Park.
