Peor

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Email

A high mountain in the land of Moab, the last of the three to which Balak directed Balaam so that he might curse Israel, and from which instead he proclaimed a blessing (Num 23:28). Eusebius identified this mountain between Livias (Bethsaida) and Heshbon. Peor is now variously identified with several mountains near Heshbon.
