p. edema — an exaggeration around the kidney of generalized subserous edema; seen only in pigs and cattle.
feline p. cysts — uni- or bilateral accumulations of fluid in cystlike masses (pseudocysts) between the renal parenchyma and capsule or entirely extracapsular occur in aged, male cats causing a progressive abdominal enlargement, but not usually renal dysfunction. Called also perinephritic pseudocyst, renal capsular cyst, capsulogenic renal cyst, perirenal hygroma, capsular hydronephrosis and retroperitoneal perirenal cyst.
