PESA (Pojazdy Szynowe PESA Bydgoszcz) is a train manufacturing company based in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The company is the oldest producer of railway vehicles in Poland. It delivers vehicles to a number of customers in European countries, including Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Italy, Germany,[1] and Poland. The company is the third largest employer in Bydgoszcz.

History

In 2012 PESA announced its intentions to build a tram assembly plant in Pavlodar, a mainly Russian-speaking city of 300,000 in northern Kazakhstan, in conjunction with the city's plans to buy up to 100 new trams from the manufacturer to shore up its aging public transport infrastructure.[2]
