Biography

Actor Peter Capell was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. In 1933, he came to the U.S. to work on stage and in radio. He was the executive producer of The Voice of America during most of the 1940s and appeared in several theatrical productions such as Hedda Gabler and Blood Wedding. Capell made his feature film debut in Walk East on Beacon (1952). He continued occasionally working in Hollywood films through the mid 1980s. Around 1955 Capell returned to Europe where he did the bulk of his film work. Because he was fluent in English, the German actor frequently dubbed films. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
