Philip Bushill-Matthews (born on 15 January 1943 in Droitwich) was a British politician and was a conservative Member of the European Parliament for the West Midlands.

In 2008 he did not submit his name for reselection as Conservative candidate at the 2009 European elections and stood down as MEP in June 2009.

He is a substitute for the Committee on Foreign Affairs and also a member of the Delegation for relations with Iran.

He was first elected to the European Parliament in 1999, before being elected he was the managing director of several food manufacturing businesses and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

On 5 June 2008, Bushill-Matthews was thrown into the position as acting leader of the Conservative MEPs after Giles Chichester was forced to step down after withdrawing parliamentary funds for private use.[1]
