Pholus

 

Phōlus, centaur by whom Heracles was entertained when in pursuit of the Erymanthian Boar (see HERACLES, LABOURS OF 3). Pholus died after the fight between Heracles and the centaurs; while inspecting one of Heracles' arrows he dropped it on his foot and was killed by the poison.
