Any of a group of proteins, such as casein, containing chemically bound phosphoric acid.
Proteins containing phosphate, other than as nucleic acids (nucleoproteins) or phospholipids (lipoproteins), e.g. casein from milk, ovovitellin from egg yolk.
A protein containing phosphoric groups attached to the side chains of some of its amino acids, usually serine, casein, and vitellin.
A conjugated protein in which phosphoric acid is esterified with a hydroxy amino acid.
Phosphoproteins are a group of proteins which are chemically bonded to a substance containing phosphoric acid (see phosphorylation for more). The category of organic molecules that includes Fc receptors, Ulks, Calcineurins, K chips, and urocortins.
