Pianello del Lario is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 70 km north of Milan and about 35 km northeast of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,044 and an area of 9.8 km².[1]
The municipality of Pianello del Lario contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Calozzo, Belmonte, Crotti, Bellera, Tre terre, Maggiana, S. Anna, Riva, Mianico, Saliana, Camlago, and Garuso.
Pianello del Lario borders the following municipalities: Colico, Cremia, Dervio, Dongo, Dorio, Garzeno, Musso.
