Piduguralla

Piduguralla is a town and mandal headquarters in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh state. It is famous for white cement and lime stone industries, cotton, rice and mirchi farming fields. Natural limestone is found in abundance and is the source of the town's nickname 'Limecity' or 'Mini USA'.

Road transport and people

Piduguralla is located in the part of "PALNADU" around 70 km from Guntur and 240 km from Hyderabad. It is Located on the Hyderabad - Chennai National Highway. The mandal is rich with minerals and also surrounding villages are very green with paddy fields. Most of the people depend on agriculture with fertile lands having abundant water from the Nagarjunasagar canals.

Piduguralla is well connected by Buses from Guntur, Vijayawada, Miryalguda, Tirupathi, Karimnagar, Suryapet, kodad,warangal, Hyderabad(Dilsukhnagar, kphb,ecil, bhel, jeedimetla), Narasaraopet and Macherla,VI. It has a well established bus depot that connects villages around the town.

Industry

It has around 45 rice mills (par boiled and raw rice). The place is one of the most industrialized town in guntur district. It has around 300 lime stone kilns and lime hydrating mills and lots of cotton mills in the town, 5 PAINT INDUSTRIES and recently 2coldstorages are being constructed.some 2-5 Fly ash brick industriespresent. The famous Surya Cem and Surya Colours is headquartered in Piduguralla as the whole manufacturing is carried out here. There are nearly 15 H.D.P.E / P.P woven sacks stitching companies who use to supply rice bags to most of rice mills. Not only above mentioned ones there are lot of timber depos.

Rail transport

Trains from Guntur,Vijayawada,Vizag,Hyderabad,Chennai,Tirupathi,Kerala,Kolkata used to pass via Piduguralla. Later, Guntur-Nadikudi-Macherla line was converted from Meter Gauge to Broad Gauge under Project Unigauge and a new line was laid from Bibinagar near Hyderabad to Nadikudi. Thus Piduguralla was connected directly to Hyderabad by Broad Gauge Line. Piduguralla is located on the Pagidipalle-Nallapadu section of Guntur division of South Central Railway(SCR). The railway Station code for Piduguralla is PGRL.the bus station code is PDRL.

Employment

The main profession of the people is cultivation and exporting limestone and white cement in Piduguralla. The profession is not restricted to lime stone, there are several industries like Timber depots, hollow brick industries, based on crops like cereals, rice, groundnut oil, Educational Institutions, Computer Institutions extraction..etc. overall it is one of the most important business place in guntur district.

Education has a strong base in Piduguralla; there are more than 25 Secondary grade schools , high grade school ( Sri Sri Wisdom Model School run by Ravi Sir ( Maths Teacher ) ,A.B.C Grammar School,Oxford Public School,Naveena Techno School,vikas public school, vidhyardhi schools, vivekananda schools),Srivani public school and Sri Chaitanya Bala Kuteer having , 5 junior & 6 degree colleges T.R.R& S Degree College, 1 b.ed colle and also one of the school which is past from 15 years is St'Ann's English Medium High School. It is located opposite to APSRTC Bus depot, and also computer training institutes i.e. VISWAM COMMUNICATION, Janapdu Road, S.P.INFOTECH Up:Shriram Chits, Masjeed Center, SIVA COMPUTERS training institute D.C.A, D.T.P, C, C++ , JAVA, TALLY,EXTRA It is located main road.

Politics

Politically Piduguralla is the biggest town in Gurajala constituency and has three prominent parties: Congress, Telugu Desam, YSR Congress - which fight head to head in this constituency. M.Balarama krishna is the First municipal chairman.

Temples

Piduguralla Ayyappa Temple (www.pdrlayyappa.com) is one of the most famous temple in Andhra Pradesh state. Beside of the Krishna river Lord Ayyappa temple was inaugurated the presence of the Lord Ayyappa temple the surroundings and the area is called ayyappa nagaram this is the most beautiful temple is being peaceful and delightful in that area.sai baba temple which is present near to Vikas public school is very nice and peaceful temple.

One of the most famous temple is SRI VASAVI KANYAKAPAREMESWAREE TEMPLE ...which is located in the area ISLAND center Sri Kanana Durga Temple, Bahavani Nagar, Main Road, Piduguralla one of most famous & old Temple PRASANANJANEYA temple in Brahmanapalli to piduguralla road near pedda kaluva

Sri venkateswara temple DEVARAMPADU this is near kondamodu.In this village every year conduct Tirunalla, sri lord venkateswara swami.its starts after sivarathri coming satuarday and the ending is ugadi occusation.This village have only one leader he is Mr.Yerramsetty Krishnama Naidu garu,Sarpanch of this village.his family members are follow the good behaviour inner feelings of this village People last 15 years.this village is famous of the Guntur District.

Recently built SRI PRASANNANJANEYA SWAMY TEMPLE near by overbridge, PRAJASAKTHI NAGAR in piduguralla, this temple conducted every year RADHOSTAVAM & VILLAGE TIRUNALLA. This temple President Sri Kakumanu Mallikharjuna Rao.

And also one new temple built in Kotanemalipuri,its very well know village NEAR TO Piduguralla.

Near by villages

1. Morjampadu: The closest and one of the largest near by villages on the road to River Krishna at Kamepalli.
2. Govinda puram: The 2nd closest on the way to River Krishna at Kamepalli and has a river bet but dangerous from here and also district boarder to Guntur and Krishna separated by the river Krishna.
3. Kamepalli: Village beside the river Krishna. The river is almost 40 to 50 metres deep.
4. Brahman palli: is the village on the state highway to Hyderabad from Guntur and has district's oldest Z.P.H school. This village has a large number of temples including the Prasanaanjaneya swamy, Shivalayam, and Ramalayam temple. Recently the Shivalayam was renovated and grand function was held to commemerate this.
5. Tummalacheruvu: one of the first village that was electrified in Guntur district. The temple of PanduRanga Swamy is very famous here. Every summer people pray to the god of goodness for 5 days called TIRUNALLA. It is connected by both road and rail.
6. 'Karempudi': This is one of the places which is called as Palnadu MUKHA DWARAM
7. Kothaganeshunipadu: Home of a famous old Baniyan tree.
8. KotanemaliPuri: Very Closest and divide the highways and recently 2 cold storage are built and also milk dairy
9. Pillutla:Claimed to be one of the coolest village near by piduguralla,first school was established in this village(G.V.G.K.R.O High School)
