Fabri, Pierre (c.1450-c.1535). Author of the Grand et Vrai Art de pleine rhétorique (1521), in which, in traditional medieval fashion, he regards poetry as a special kind of rhetoric. He also provides a survey of the medieval genres (ballade, rondeau, etc.) which the Pléiade, reacting against its medieval heritage and against Rhétoriqueur poetry, will ostentatiously spurn.
