Motin, Pierre (1566-c.1614). Little is known of this poet, but about 150 of his poems figure in satirical collections of the day. As well as obscene verve and inventiveness, his work sometimes reveals a light touch and a preoccupation with dream and inconstancy which set him apart from his contemporaries Sigogne and Régnier.
